Mentors are required to have Christ-like character, be a believer in Christ and to exhibit

- No excessive alcohol consumption

- Heterosexual 
- Strong communication skills - Able to moderate sessions in a controlled environment, including the pace & direction of the discussion 
- Personable and approachable 
- Strong, clear verbal and non-verbal communication skills 
- Accountable & transparent: comfortable having someone hold them accountable for their own behavior and willing to share personal experience 
 
- Reliable & dependable; consistently punctual 
- Flexible; able to adapt to the various needs of the group and/or the Director’s requests 
- Healthy self-esteem, balanced with humility 
- Patient 
- Non-judgmental 
- Self-aware; the ability to recognize the impact of what they say and do 
- Sense of humor 
- Good hygiene, including appropriate attire and grooming 
- Committed to act in position for a minimum of one year 
- Age: 25 years or older. - Note: This requirement will be considered on a case-by-case basis, as the goal is to have life experience. 
 
Application, Training & Reporting Requirements
- Submit the attached application for consideration by the Director and Board. 
- A personal interview may be required, at the Director’s request. 
- If you are selected to be a mentor, training will involve one day (eight hours), led by the Director. 
- A written report will be required after each session to brief the Director about the session. Periodic reviews with the Director may also be required.
